Hibrow's Curators
are exceptional individuals and cultural organisations invited from around the globe and across the arts. Each curator chooses their own projects to share with Hibrow's audience and works with Hibrow's production teams to produce them and distribute.

Luca Silvestrini

A celebrated dancer, Luca founded Protein Dance, Winner of Best Independent Company in the National Dance Awards 2011, in 1997 and continues as its Artistic Director and choreographer. In addition to his work for Protein, Luca has created work for Transitions Dance Company, CandoCo, Bare Bones, Intoto, From Here To Maturity, Company of Elders at Sadler’s Wells and Sankalpalm. Theatre and opera credits include work for English National Opera, Theatre Rites, Royal Court Theatre, Duckie and Youth Music Theatre UK. He has won a Jerwood Choreography Award, a Bonnie Bird New Choreography Award, The Place Prize 2006 Audience Award and was one of the first recipients of a Rayne Choreography Award (2006). In 2012 the British Council presented Luca and Protein with a New Connections Award for the valuable contribution made in developing closer relations between the UK and Italy. Protein toured their award-winning production LOL (lots of love), exclusively filmed by HiBROW, to the Middle East, Russia, India, Thailand, Palestine, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia in 2012.
