
This piece is often referred to as the Sonata in G minor for 'Cello and Piano because Rachmaninov believed both instruments are of equal importance. This cinematic insight into how two virtuosi - Robert Cohen and Heini Kärkkäinen - rehearse, polish and perform clearly illustrates Rachmaninov's point of view.
