David Nicholls

David Nicholls is a British novelist whose 2009 novel 'One Day' was made into a 2011 film, adapted for the screen by himself, directed by Lone Scherfig and starring Jim Sturgess and Anne Hathaway. His previous novel, 'Starter for Ten' was also turned into a film starring James McAvoy and Benedict Cumberbatch. Nicholls has recently adapted Charles Dickens's 'Great Expectations' into a film directed by Mike Newell and starring Ralph Fiennes and Helena Bonham Carter. His most recent novel is 'The Understudy'.
